5 Types Of Cannabis Concentrates

Concentrates are the most potent form of cannabis and the fastest-growing segment of the legal marijuana market. The five main types of concentrates include hash oil, shatter, wax, dabs, and rosin. These products are made by extracting cannabinoids from dried flower buds using various methods, including butane and CO2 extraction.

Shatter

Shatter is a form of cannabis concentrate made by passing butane through a tube filled with marijuana. The butane extracts the oils from the plant material, which are then condensed into a complex, transparent material similar to glass.

But what is shatter cannabis? Shatter can be dark brown or amber and has a higher THC content than other cannabis concentrates.

Shatter can be smoked using either an oil rig or dab rig (sometimes called “dabbing”), which are glassware used for vaporizing concentrates.

These devices heat up when you apply flame directly onto them and cool down quickly after use to not burn yourself while holding them in your hand while they’re hot enough to inhale vapors from your desired product.

Hash

Hash is the resin of the cannabis plant. It’s made by grinding up the plant or by using a solvent to extract the resin from the plant. Hash can be smoked in a pipe or vaporized (vaporizing heats your herb but doesn’t burn it).

Hash has a stronger potency than flowers, so you may want to try using less hash when cooking at home than making edibles with flowers.

Oil

Oil is a cannabis concentrate. It’s made through a solvent extraction process that uses butane or CO2, which are removed from the resulting product.

Oil is the most common type of cannabis concentrate. It can be used in various ways: as an edible (like coconut oil), topically applied to sore muscles or skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis (with added essential oils), inhaled through dabbing with special rigs designed for this purpose or all three!

Wax

Wax is a type of cannabis concentrate. It’s made from the trichomes of cannabis and is considered a solid at room temperature. Wax can be smoked in various ways, but most commonly, it’s dabbed using an oil rig or vaporizer pen with an atomizer attachment. Wax comes in many forms and can be found on the market as shatter, crumble, budder, and more!

Budder

Budder is a cannabis concentrate with a consistency similar to butter, hence its name. It’s made by extracting cannabinoids from the plant material with butane or CO2 and then purging away any residual solvents by heating it under low pressure.

Budder tends to have higher THC content than other concentrates, making it ideal for those who want something substantial but don’t want to feel too high for their excellent (or anyone else’s).

Budder can be consumed in many ways: dabbing, vaporizing, and smoking are popular methods of consuming budder.

There you go!

The cannabis industry is snowballing, and with it comes the need for more and more products. Concentrates are one of the fastest-growing segments of this industry, with sales rising by double digits each year.

As more states legalize recreational cannabis use and Congress considers its legislation on legalization, we can expect these numbers to keep rising into the future!
